Terms and Conditions

Class bookings and cancellation policy: Our class descriptions are only a guide to course content. Amendments may be made at our discretion.  If you have any concerns or queries regarding a class please contact us before booking.

Bookings are made on a first come, first served basis on receipt of full payment. We regret that no refunds will be given. Amendments to bookings may be made up to 7 days prior to the date of the class. If you find you are unable to attend a class less than 7 days before the date of the class you are welcome to send someone else in your place. These rules apply equally to gift voucher bookings. Should we offer you a refund please be aware that there will be an administrative fee of £5 per ticket to cover our costs.

Cancellation or postponement by you: Where you are unable to attend a class due to adverse weather conditions, illness or other personal circumstances our booking and cancellation policy will still apply however at our sole discretion we will offer alternative dates for a replacement class at short notice. We cannot guarantee that alternative dates offered will be for the same class or even for the same day of the week.  This applies equally to situations where you are unable to attend due to Covid 19.

Cancellation by us: In the unfortunate and unlikely event that a class has to be cancelled, we will always try and give you as much notice as we reasonably can. Bookings cancelled or postponed due to the Covid 19 pandemic restrictions and booked after 31.01.22 will be offered a choice of an alternative class or a gift voucher but will not be entitled to a refund.  Classes cancelled for any other reason within the control of Margate Cookery School will be offered the choice of an alternative class or a refund. We will not be liable for any other costs or expenses that you may incur. We recommend that all customers seek appropriate travel insurance.

Allergies: Please let us know when booking whether you have any food allergies or intolerances. Nuts, gluten and other allergens are present in our kitchen at all times.

Minimum age requirement: Classes with knives have a minimum age requirement of 16+ years. For other classes, 14 and 15 year olds are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult who is also taking the class.

Health & saftey: Please follow any health & safety advice and instruction given to you by your tutor. Closed-toe shoes must be worn.

Use of knives and other liabilities: Some lessons will include the use of knives. Whilst the tutor will instruct you and how best and safely use your knife, it is your responsibility to work safely and by signing our waiver you will indemnify and hold us and our employees and shareholders harmless from all claims, damages, liabilities and causes of action which may arise as a result of:
a. any injuries or damages you sustain, or that your guest or anyone affiliated or connected with you, may sustain in connection with us or resulting in directly or indirectly from your or your guest’s, or affiliated or connected persons, involvement in our cooking classes.
As well as:
b. your preparation, storage, re-heating and consumption of food after your class;
c. any loss of personal property whilst on our premises;

Images: We often take photographs of our lessons and may use the images on our website and social media channels and by signing our waiver you give us permission to do so unless you indicate otherwise.

Customers are asked to be sensitive to the privacy and enjoyment of other participants when taking any photographic or video footage during our classes.
